About me
Meals as medicine.
Cooking for reproductive health, recovery and everyday healing.
Hi, I’m Teyler Wallace. I’m a postpartum doula, holistic cook and urban farmer, and the daughter of a strong Mexican mother and loving Jamaican father. Every Foodie Doula recipe begins in my kitchen.
I believe meals can be medicine. The recipes I develop are designed to nourish and to heal, made with reproductive health and recovery in mind for the seasons of pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond. That means warming spices, mineral-rich greens, slow-simmered broths and stews, and food that’s easy to eat when you’re tired, healing or caring for someone new.
My cooking draws on the food of my Mexican and Jamaican roots, on what I grow and learn as an urban farmer, and on what I’ve learned walking alongside families as a doula: that a pot of soup carried to someone’s door is a form of care.
